SCCA (PASR) National Tour Daily Schedule
freakin_elrod replied to Kei's topic in SCCA Solo Discussion
If you are asking about when they post the run group/class schedule for the weekend, I think they do it a little bit after the close of registration. -

Bridgestone RE71RS, Yok A052, Nankang CR-S. Or you could stick with the RT660s, or go with the Kumho V730s which will probably last you forever.

In street class you can stuff as big of a tire as you can fit on the stock wheel width. Someone running nationally in DS has already stuffed 275's on a GR Corolla (back before the SEB did a take back on classing from DS to BS).

Maybe We Need Large Car Numbers?

Whatever color your heart desires old friend!! Well realistically any color that has good contrast and is easily visible. Our trusty SCCA rule book has all that info for those that are un aware. -
Maybe We Need Large Car Numbers?
freakin_elrod replied to fahrvergnugen's topic in SCCA Solo Discussion
I originally started my auto-x journey in the San Diego region and I know the use of temp numbers/number ownership worked well in that much larger region than ours. This past April's event one of my competitors was another black Focus ST and literally ran right behind me and if I didn't have my numbers, I could easily see things getting mixed up, let alone the plethora of "like" Miata's so I would agree with the need/use for numbers as well. I know that the current system works when it does and then there's instances like this past event when its a cluster...... If remember correctly, isn't our club from a financial stand point in an overage? The temporary numbers would be a drop in the bucket in terms of using up an expense. Also we've graduated to a medium region and have made some great leaps and bounds, this could be another one of those next steps into making this slightly better/efficient....... -

How do some people enter events early?
freakin_elrod replied to Mach5Mk5's topic in SCCA Solo Discussion
Those are the folks that are involved in preparation/teardown of the event. -
2nd run was the best run for me as I wasted my 3rd run plowing cones trying to test how late I could brake, and 4th run giving up a little from being greedy.
-
I do both left and right foot braking and I can't say that I've experienced that in the ST. I did have a crappy 3rd run where I plowed cones like you did, but that was due to me being over optimistic on how late I could brake...

Day 2 the coaching from Stephen King and the AZ B-Team were applied which resulted in a much better drive, but I still need to tighten things up..... -

Lots of mistakes and the aha moment came after some coaching from Mr. King and the AZ B-Team. Too bad the aha moment came after all my runs lol... -
Who's going to the Vegas national events?
freakin_elrod replied to Todd A's topic in SCCA Solo Discussion
Definitely do one if you can. We've got a great group of folks in this region. Get with those who are participating and caravan out there. Its a great way to build camaraderie and also look out for one another. -
First set of 200TW tires, A052 or RE71-RS?
freakin_elrod replied to David 2's topic in SCCA Solo Discussion
If they have your size (which I believe they do given you drive something that doesn't take huge boy sizes), the V730 from Kumho is another good option. Just as fast as the RT660's, wear like an iron, and are even cheaper than the Falken's. They also do not suffer from the butt-hole pucker cold tire syndrome that the Falkens have on their first lap from temps under 60 degree's, but that is only a concern for 3 or so months out of the year out here. -
2023 Type R was just recently classed in BS so I going to guess it will start out there

John Hogan was the MVP of the day taking top PAX during the crappiest of the crappy..... We were all chasing him, but came up short. Modulation of the go pedal on a tail happy FWD car is still pretty tricky as this was the first time I've driven the ST in full STH trim in the wet....and yes I was pumped at the end of the run lol

Sound like you have a CAM-T build in the making. @SSLance may be able to chime in as well as the other CAM-T competitors of this region.
