  1. Figured as much, planning to do that one so I booked a hotel room for the 18th. Don’t wanna leave Phoenix at 4:30 am 😂
  2. Is it May 18 or 19? I see on the AZBR website and Mind the Cones it shows May 19 as the event date.
  3. Sounds good. Thanks Todd!
  4. The wheels in the competition photos look like different ones than the stock TRD ones; are those Rota Strikes? I've actually been looking for a set of SSC-spec 17x8 with 40 offset. If you still have those separately from the car, how much would those be?
  5. I'll let someone who runs tech or on the steering committee answer for final confirmation as well if they see this, but the 1994 Civic I started autocrossing in had a thin crack in the windshield from top to bottom and wasn't considered unsafe. If it's a thin crack that doesn't mess up vision, I was told back in 2015 that was okay.
  6. Hi Clay, basically, all the difference is between the groups is the run time. Group A runs first (usually about about 8:30 or 9 am), and then Group B, then C, then D is the last group out, usually at about 11:30 or noon. Anyone is allowed in any group. You usually complete your work assignment 2 groups before or after your group, i.e. A works for C, B works for D and vice versa.
  7. Seems we may have an alternative at Firebird Motorsports Park (formerly Wild Horse Pass). They're returning to their old name and bringing in new management with motorsports experience to breathe new life into the facility! Not sure if the I-10 development has stalled or what, but the official ADOT page for it hasn't been updated since September 2022, so it may have collapsed. For now, seems Firebird is back: https://www.nhra.com/news/2023/nhra-arizona-nationals-will-return-renamed-firebird-motorsports-park
  8. Thanks Faith! Good to know. I know at least one of them isn't going to make it now as of the last hour or two, so not a problem. 🙂
  9. I have possibly three guests for the next event, and I don't see on any pages on MSR or emails anything about the 2-guest per person limit since October. Is the limit still in effect? Or is it just first come, first serve for anyone when registration opens on Wednesday?
  10. Had a lot of fun myself, even when I lost traction before the final corner with the BRZ on my 2nd run. Track driving is addicting; too bad my wallet doesn’t like it! 😅 Got to learn how to control RWD better again, but couldn’t stop smiling after I was done. I think the slaloms could have used a few more cones to keep speed down, but I still had a blast, and I hope we can do more of these.
  11. Helps to have something you don't need to download to show the tie rod end. Oops!
  12. Update: Car's steering wheel was even more thrown off from center driving home from AMP yesterday. After replacing the tie rod ends, I think I've found the culprits. Presumably, this shouldn't be leaking grease, have this much gap in the boot's top hole or be this easy to move. Time will tell after I get an alignment whether the new Moogs from Rockauto hold the alignment better than the 95,000-mile stock ones. Tried the toe plates and manually adjusting first, and I don't have the patience for anything more than small adjustments. 😄 IMG_7615.MOV
  13. Thanks, looks like a really helpful device! Definitely would help toe accuracy. Unfortunately, I live in a 660-square foot 1-bedroom condo, so I don’t have enough room to store something that big. As it is, most of my tools and car parts are on my laundry room shelf, and my extra tires and suspension parts sit on my balcony. Now, assuming I buy a house a few years down the road, this is something I’d be able to build then.
  14. Thanks! That's exactly what I figured was going on, that they're both pointed the same amount in one direction. I found a small grease leak forming on the right outer tie rod end anyway, so I'll do a more full correction once I get the new ends installed after they arrive from RockAuto. If it's worn out, that might explain why the steering wheel wasn't straight anymore after the last event. Should still work for now, as there's no clunking, but I'll get them replaced in the next few weeks.
  15. Update: I’ve used the toe plates and the toe turned out to be 1/8 out. I reset it super close to 0, but it somehow threw my steering wheel a bit more off in the process 😅. I realized it’s probably best to wait until I have plenty of time on a day to try to correct it, or just wait for my next alignment, to correct it. Might end up wasting more time on my own perfectionism than it’s worth to get it perfectly straight.
