  1. Attached is a copy of the annual tech form needed to receive Annual Tech for 2024. While it is not required at this point it is highly recommended that all SCCA Members get this done. This will help expedite Tech in the morning. Look, you do this once a year and we put a tech sticker on your car (same concept as the AMP sound sticker).  No waiting in line, no getting out of your car to open the hood and trunk, no digging through your helmet. It's a win / win for everyone. The only requirement is to be a FULL SCCA member and print out your own form and bring the completed form to your next event. Don't be the guy/gal that holds the line up to fill out your form on site while 50 cars are backed up to Camelback waiting in line. I have attached them in Word and PDF documents for you to download. Feel free to ask questions on the forum. Happy New Year and hope to see you all at the events in 2024.

Additionally we will have a Tech only day at Lances Speed Shop. Home of the world famous Barney. That will be on Saturday January 6th. Registration opens at 8pm on December 28th.  Here's the description on MotorsportReg.

Our Phoenix AZ Solo Annual Tech Gathering will be at Lances Speed Shop on January 6, 2024 10:00 am to 2 pm if needed.  We'll have the whole Tech team on site to complete your 2024 Annual Tech Approval and get your sticker that allows you to perform your own tech and skip the tech lines at each event. If you cannot attend this tech only event we will be able to do Annual Techs starting the January event and all events after. We will not be able to do Annual techs at the December 2023 event.

We will have pizza and wings provided by the club for drivers doing their annual tech and weigh scales set up for those that may want to weigh their car on a first come first served basis.

The location is very close to 75th Ave and Happy Valley Road, exact address will be sent to all entrants before January 6th. Please register if you plan to attend so we will have a head count to know how many pizzas to order.

  2. To clarify. If you don't have a sticker in your door jam that says Phoenix AZ Solo - SCCA Annual Tech, you don't have annual tech. Not to be confused with the AMP sound sticker. Here is a photo of the annual tech sticker. We started using them last month. 2007495382_annualtechstickercopy.jpg.ac376182be7f1209bcfa282ba0ddfa4e.jpg

  3. Driver wristbands are now done at registration when you check in. At tech we only tech cars that don't have annual tech and place a small dot sticker on the larger sticker you receive at registration with your info. If you have annual tech all you have to do is registration and then prep your car foe the day.

  4. Just a reminder that all full SCCA members, non weekend members, are eligible for Annual Tech. This saves you the hassle of waiting in line to get your car teched. This also helps expedite the whole day. The sooner we all get through Registration and Tech the sooner we can have the drivers meeting and get more runs in. There is a pinned post above that has the forms to print out. I will personally print our a few spares for this month for those that don't have a printer or if forgot yours at home. If you need to fill the form out while in line at tech I will ask you to circle around and go tot he back of the line so we can keep the line moving.

While this is not mandatory at this point it really does help the day move along. There are no disadvantages to having annual tech.

Reminder that Annual Tech is only available to full SCCA members. If you pay the yearly membership fee you are good to go.

Feel free to message me or see me at the track if you have any questions.

    Thanks

  5. Looking for 2 individuals that run in afternoon run groups, C or D, to work tech for the foreseeable future. Preferably individuals that are at every event. Get your work assignment done before the event starts. Then you can sit back and relax for the rest of the event. Feel free to shoot me a PM and I can fill you in on the details.

    Thanks!

Since, the Saturday Test & Tune event will be an all day event, if I am not able to be on-site in the morning, will I be able to arrive around noon and get my car teched and registered for the afternoon session? I would appreciate an official answer to my question. Thanks

To my knowledge registration and tech is only being offered in the morning for the Saturday test and tune. Back to normal for Sunday.

  7. I know a few of you have asked so I will have Chalk Markers for Sale at tech on Sunday. For those with annual tech this will be very helpful. Loaners will no longer be available as they keep disappearing. 5 bucks each, 2 for 10, 4 for 20. What a deal!. Cash preferred but I can also accept Venmo. Please bring exact change.

I also created a poll so I can make sure to have enough. If you plan on buying one please let me know. Thanks
