A number of local SCCA members/drivers attended and competed. I thought you might find these results interesting. Some use these top local drivers as "Benchmarks" to compare themselves to, to help gauge their progress with their own cars. I do. Choose a few local consistent drivers and keep a percentage record of how you do against them. You could than also apply your percentage towards these results to see how you might place should you chose to enter any of the National Events. Any full SCCA Member can enter any of these events. Give it some thought. A good way to grow and learn, as well as meeting some very nice fellow drivers/members from other locals. So, take a look for the Arizona drivers, and check out how they did. Also peek at YOUR class and see how those times stack up. It is interesting. Attached also is the overall event PAX Scores. jw1 Posted April 26, 2021 Share Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) The courses were very large and challenging - excellent courses. If anyone is on the fence, Tours generally have some of the best courses that you can experience. One thing to note, pretty much all street tires car were on Yokohama A052s. The only exception was DS which maybe had some leftover RE71s. So, go buy some A052s if you want to compete at a National event or you can drive like Brian. Example: Tire Rack SCCA Fontana National Champ Tour 2021 - Day 2 Run 4 - YouTube It's very interesting to watch the ones with data recording parameters running along with the video. I was amazed a while back watching a video for a 1987 C4 corvette running at an Optima Street challenge at Fontana who was pulling consistent 1.44 G cornering levels on 200 rating tires. Was a great weekend, I was one of the DS cars running Falken. Not sure there was as much thought put into tires on my part, I used what I had.
