Hey SC Folks. In anticipation of the May 10 Test Event, and all our future Phoenix Raceway Solo Events, I for one would like you to please share some advance details about the site with us. I like to plan ahead. šŸ˜Ž

I ran there when we last used PIR (so I’ll still be using that term, don’t especially like ā€œPRā€ šŸ˜‰). Sorry.šŸ˜‚

  1. I’d really like to see an overhead view of that part of the area that we’d be allowed to use, especially the course lot and parking. Like a course map without the course.
  2. Please comment on your perception of the relative size compared to the AMP lot.Ā
  3. Will Pat the Hot Dog Lady be allowed on site. Last time no vendors were allowed, I recall.
  4. Thinking it will be nice to be able to bring unlimited/unscheduled friends out now. Really missed that. Can we ditch that online system please since numbers no longer matter?
  5. What time will our access gates open for participants? Any formal ā€œbe goneā€ time?

Please share those, and any other nuances that would be handy.

Thank you.

A template is what is being worked on at present, but understand May 10 is a practice event, so these things may/will change. Information on Pat will be announced at a later date. On the May event gates will open at 6:30 for drivers, and unlike AMP there is no off street parking so don’t plan on arriving before 6:30. Guests will need to continue to register through MSR for speedwaiver but are not limited like AMP. Lot is slightly smaller than AMP but we are not losing space due to the sound meter and only one side is bound by fence. More details to follow.Ā

Understood, looking forward to figuring it out. Will miss the AMP lot, not the attendance limit, sound meter, limited hours. Lots to look forward to.

How about PIR potty access? Built-in or porta-potties?

Another concern I have is the "Guest" registration. I know that requiring that handles the participant waiver requirement, BUT, here is what I see happening. An "invited" guest not schooled on our special requirement decides last minute to bring his or her friend. They show up, and the friend is turned away. Or, other PIR visitors are there for other purposes wandering around, and see our event. They come over to check us out. "Sorry, you're not on the list".

There really needs to be a backup paper waiver for the occasional guests who may show up and don't know of our special requirement. Very worst thing we could do is turn any of these people away. We need to be accepting and user-friendly.

Thanks

EDIT………

Kim Kemper reports that our current system will be able to handle occasional ā€œextra guestsā€ that just show up unplanned. Waiver folks with Smart Phones will be able to provide access.

We do not want large numbers of unanticipated guests.

I think we’re good.šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘
