As this is our first event at this venue, and we are receiving significant interest from potential participants in Phoenix area, we will open the registration on Friday, January 2, a week earlier than our normal schedule.

We would like to get as good idea as possible on how many will attend, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

Note that this is the day the registration also opens for Jan-11 Sierra Vista event.

Make sure you register for the one you intend (maybe both?😆)

Hi everyone, just want to add a little bit of inside baseball as to where the club is and what our plans for 2026 look like.

The tl;dr is that autocross is extremely challenging to put on due to the intersection of site availability and unfavorable economics. For the few viable sites that exist, we are rarely the most lucrative option for renting out the site. Podium club represents our best opportunity to put on a full spring/fall series of events, but to make this work we really need everyone to demonstrate strong interest in running there by signing up for this January event.

Kino is in normal times unavailable to us in Spring because of the gem show (look it up if you're curious, it's a really big deal) which goes for a few months. Around April/May (when it gets hot lol) is when we start getting open dates. Recently they've started attracting interest from fall baseball leagues which are far more lucrative than what we can make work (and it's also why Kino exists). So getting dates in October and later has become problematic.

We have also more or less lost access to Musselman as a site. Historically we don't draw great numbers to events at that site, which greatly hampers our ability to pay what the site wants; and with the recent improvements they've made, they've attracted some deeper pockets. It's not economical to run there without more than doubling our entry fees.

As of right now we're still working out the schedule, but we're hoping to do monthly events at Podium Club for Spring, switch to Kino for the summer months, and then back to Podium Club for the fall. Traditionally a full race track like this rents for much more than we could afford, so at some point we will probably have to raise prices for Podium Club events. BUT (here's where I need your help) the more people who are committed to run events there, the stronger the interest, the less we have to raise prices and the more likely it is that we can get consistent dates to run there.

In short, not to be too dramatic, but the success of this event is super important to the club's ability to host a full year of events as we traditionally have. It's also likely the cheapest you will ever run one of our events at Podium Club. I hope you'll sign up.

Happy new year everyone!
