NickB Posted January 1, 2022 Share Posted January 1, 2022 I'm brand new the sport, but know enough that I'd like to just commit out of the gate to some safety gear. I used to ride quads years ago so I know that trying a helmet on is important for fitment. What places in the Phoenix area have appropriate safety gear for sale that I can try on before I buy? NickB Posted January 3, 2022 Author Share Posted January 3, 2022 The SCCA seems to allow Snell, SFI or FIA. Is the local chapter only accepting Snell helmets? Crash helmets approved by the Snell Foundation with Snell sticker 2015 or later Special Application SA2015/SAH2015, or by the SFI with a SFI Sticker SFI 31.1/2015 or newer, or by the FIA standard 8859-2015 or FIA 8860-2010 or newer.
