G stock and 2022 new cars

I'm going to autocross in GS this year, and will buy a 2022 VW GTI or a 2022 Honda Civic SI.  Have not found anything in Fastrack yet, but I assume they will remain in GS.  Anybody think the SCCA will move them?    The mark 8 GTI has about 20 more hp, a modest increase in spring rates, but very similar to the mark 7.   The new Civic Si actually has 5 less hp, non adjustable shocks, but supposed to handle a little better.    Last year, the Honda was the car to beat in GS, at least nationally....not sure if the mark 8 GTI will shift the balance.  Any opinions?

Last question, I can't figure this out from the Solo 1 rule book.  The VW GTI 'S' and 'SE' sub-models have 18x7.5 wheels. The top of the line 'Autobahn' has 19x8 wheels. A half inch more wheel width is not insignificant.  I know the rules would allow the use of an 18x8 wheel on an Autobahn....could you legally use an 18x8 on an S or SE? Technically, the 19x8's are listed as an option, but lower option packages will not come from the factory with 19's.   Unfortunately, the S is by far the best bargain, and the lightest.
