smeyers
About time……. Reported by Grassroots Motorsports. 38 sizes. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/news/bridgestone-back-potenza-re-71rs-coming-soon/?utm_content=bufferb4d16&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=GRMFacebook&fbclid=IwAR3IFfLCxRqaGqPh5BQNKeHCjlqIEuOq1-J5IRrb550CbPp7GRzsspn-uVk
Mach5Mk5
Wow. Looks like a daily driver tire with that tread pattern, and yet somehow it's faster than the old 71. Curious to see how this stacks up against the RT660!
Nokones
No big-boy sizes for my Corvettes. However, they have little-boy sizes for my Porsche. I may have to try these since, we'll probably won't see any Yoks or Falkens until July or so. I might try Nankangs if the Bridgestones don't come out by mid-May for my Porsche. NickB
From what I've seen, the current popular picks are the RT660 and the A052, right? Any other competitive tires out there? Which does everyone prefer?
Frank Vessell
Tire Rack has test the Continental Extremecontact Force. They say it is close to their top pick the A052.
freakin_elrod
Another good option is the Kumhos V730 if they have your size. They are the cheapest out of all the current EP tires, and are almost as fast. From my experience they seem to wear better than the Falkens, and for sure much better than the A052. cgroppi
I have heard that both the Continental and the new Bridgestones are more optimized towards the track. Able to withstand higher temps and last longer, but at the expense of peak grip. So maybe not as good for autocross as the Yoks and Falkens. But I don't know anyone personally who has verified this. Matt U
So Grassroots tested it and found it was worse than the RT660 when hot lapping but better on first lap pace. Also, Hoosier mentioned in an interview that they were working on a different Extreme Contact for the autocross market. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/continental-extreme-contact-force-200tw-tire-test/ Edited April 23, 2022 by Matt U
smeyers
I’d be most interested in an *autocross test*, rather than a lapping situation.
