  1. Hey Everyone,

Judah was working hard this week on pics at the track. We have a few thousand pics to go through and scrub the blurry stuff out of. Hopefully, by the end of the week, I'll post up a Dropbox link. Some track and pit shots are to be included. The sunrise colors on Sunday were pretty spectacular. Here are a few he got of my car. Judah is getting better and even had his first paid photo shoot recently. The roller was from that shoot. He is working on saving for more photo gear and is willing to do a shoot for $50 if anyone is interested.

  4. Well, I'm not sure after this event if I can press on with AutoX..... That was so much fun. Even with the drama on track it flowed well and was exciting. Both my boys were giggling with excitement after their runs. We did try and get some pics but with our lens really needed to be on track to get close enough. There are some decent ones in there.

    Track Pictures--

Here was my run. Sad that I took out 2 cones, it would have been really good if I hadn't.

  5. What an interesting course this was. I was totally expecting to run much slower but much to my surprise it was such a fast course. Thanks again to the team that makes this possible.

We were taking pictures again and working on technique. The sun was sure making it difficult though. Shooting pictures from the outside of the track is limited as well, those darn bushes are too tall around the fence. You'll see when Judah (my 12-year-old son) was shooting some of them the fence made it into the foreground. He is trying to start a YouTube channel and would appreciate it if you like the pictures to hit the "like button" on some of his videos to show your support! He started a tech/editing/photography channel as part of his homeschool extracurricular activities.  Check him out at https://www.youtube.com/@JWolfTechTV

Here are the pictures. We didn't get any of run group C or time only.

Here is my best run of the day.

  6. Great Event as always, aside from the temps. Whew. The boys and I did get a few good pictures, some track pics, and some of the event. I decided to include all the pics this time, even some from the neighboring motorcycle event. We were testing out a new prime lens on the Sony so some of the shots are zoomed out pretty far. I'm asking the same thing as last time. If you like a pic head over to my Youtube channel and like a video as a thanks. @DrivingForwardBuilds

  7. We were out taking a bunch of pictures at the event. We don't know what we're doing but trying as part of our Homeschool routine. We wound up with a few good shots from each run group A-D and a few shots around the paddock. Feel free to download and use them as you wish. All I ask is if you like a pic hit my YouTube channel and drop a "like" on any video, it really helps. If you're feeling especially kind, a comment is awesome too. @DrivingForwardBuilds I should have my run video out this week sometime as well. If you don't see any of your car in the pictures, let me know. We have 725 we took! This folder is just the ones we thought turned out ok. My Boys wound up taking most of them. 🙂 This was one of our favorite shots by my older son, JJ.

the minor waiver on the website is AMP (the facility)  you need to go to the SCCA website and obtain a SCCA minor waiver that is electronic

go to SCCA “On line Store” and then “licenses”  the forms are there for the minor waiver   you have time before the event to get the minor waiver done

Got all the waivers done and approved. Will I need them printed?

passengers must be 12 years or 57” tall, sign all appropriate waivers, have a snell rated helmet that fits them and be a SCCA member either full time or week end member.

Hey Kim, I wanted to confirm the ride along requirement is an "or" situation. My son is 62" tall and will be 12 in October. He fits my 6 point harness setup, is a club and SCCA member and has a snell rated helmet. I have the AMP waiver signed as well. With that said he can ride along?

That was an interesting course, and I wish I had signed up for TO's!  There were many quick sections, but used the skidpad well for a longer course.  It at least seemed longer.

I've been working on pushing my comfort level, staying on the gas longer and braking later, but I need to work on smoothing out that gas -> brake transition.  For the first time, I triggered the assisted panic brake "safety" feature... during my 3rd (other video below) and 4th runs, both of which caused me to take out cones.  I had previously read many stories of other RS owners (I'm not sure if ST's are similarly affected) encountering it while autocrossing or at the track.  Even though I was off the brakes and back on the gas so I could power around the corner, the car thought it would be better to keep the brakes locked up and ignore driver inputs.  This nanny can't be disabled or defeated, so I'll need more seat time next season to find the limits of when it engages and how to avoid it.

Run #2, my fastest clean run (48.681):

    Run #3:

That's interesting that you can't disable. I use to Autocross an ST and never ran into that, even though most of my events were in the wet (Seattle). I wonder if disabling ABS via a fuse would work?
