Agreed it can be a blast racing in the rain. Having moved here from Seattle I did my fair share. Not sure how I feel about not having windows on my car though. 馃槈聽Heres a little end of the run blower wine and tire slip.聽

Great Event Lance. It was a great surprise too once I got on the scale. I expected the beast to be a bit heavier.聽

Great Vids! Thanks to everyone who helped put the event on, this was my first event participating. Great track layout and really enjoyed it! Sorry if I forget anyone's name who I met I'm horrible with names.
I was running group A and working Group C but I managed to grab some photos of Group B. I'll upload a link to the gallery on my website for viewing and then a link for anyone who wants to download the photos. I'll be updating it as I get through the photos, I took a ton so taking my time a bit. Thanks again for the great event and cant wait for January.聽

Great course this weekend. It was very challenging in my beast. We set a goal to try and get into the 49 second range and made it on our last TO run. We were pretty excited. Can鈥檛 wait for January.聽

It was a good testing day, made some big strides in the suspension tuning department. 聽At this rate I鈥檒l have the car better setup by next season. My son (13) came for the first time and is officially hooked 聽talked about what his first car could be to race the whole drive home.

Great Event. My son was practicing his photography during run group A. You can see the pictures here聽in Dropbox. Feel free to download. Question for those with the track map in your video... What software are you using to do this?

I think the XP vs DP is set by how much it weighs. The min weight for each class is calculated by engine displacement. What year M5 is this? I can't tell from the pictures. You'll almost certainly be above the min weight for XP, but maybe not DP.聽
Engine displacement is 4.9l.聽

It's a 2002 That started out at just over 4100lbs. I need to get it on scales again but based on weighing stuff as I remove it I would venture to be in the 3200lb range. I added a bit more cage bars and used slightly heavier gauge than I had originally anticipated. I was shooting to get close to or under 3k. Need to add some carbon/fiberglass body panels to get there though.

I do not think you are legal for SM. SM allows limited interior removal, like the removal of the back seat. You can鈥檛 gut the car. Since you still have the original motor, the best bet is probably D prepared. Prepared class is for fully race prepared cars which because of the interior yours is. Prepared does not allow engine swaps in a way as extreme as SM, but does allow the motor to be completely built.聽
Thanks for the direction. I hadn't even looked at Prepared class because the classing tool I was using said the heating system couldn't be modified. But after looking at the actual rule book closer I don't see that as being the case. 389 pages is a lot to get through, lol.

Hi,
聽Another noob here who can't make heads or tails of the rulebook. I've read through the classes and also used the online classing tool here.聽https://www.scca-classifier.com/a/index.htmlI I think I fall into the SM category.聽
Here is my mod list in its basic form. Thoughts?

Great Event everyone. I felt like the whole thing ran great even given the wacky nature of cones and the rain. Looking forward to the next one!
