  1. Matt,

I assure you I do not make a course to fit the car I drive. My initial feedback after starting to do this was things were to tight and lacked line choice. Learning from that while balancing safety concerns over the past 4 courses I have been working on opening things up. Maybe this event was a little to skewed in that direction, if so I will work to do better next time.

I'm sure it was a joke, but I do not appreciate a public post insinuating I do anything for my own gain, because it is simply not the case.

As long as the site is not flooded like it was earlier in the year we should be able to hold the event.  looking at wunderground they are predicting <.1" of rain and more of that finished while we are sleeping, so I expect we will be able to have a good event tomorrow.

You might want to throw a trash bag or two in your car to cover the items to you take out.

Or you can be like me and know it was going to rain, then forget your umbrella and not bring a jacket lol.

  3. Greetings,

I have been doing course design for the past few seasons and I am looking for someone that has interest in learning to assist me. I am looking to share the responsibility of designing courses for our events. If you have never done it before don't worry, I will be happy to show you what I know. My goal is to introduce some some diversity in course designs.

If your interested please let me know and we can connect.

    Thanks,

    Nick

  4. Hi Lance,

I will provide some feedback on your video. The camera position you use is really great as a training tool for seeing where you are looking as your driving the course. Everyone says LOOK AHEAD, but what does that mean? You should try looking ahead at the corner exits. One of the ways you lower your times is by getting on the throttle as soon as possible exiting a corner.

I will share some time markers in your video and point out where I was looking at that moment. See if you were looking in that direction.

0:07 - Looking at the exit of the slalom.

0:12 - Head turned way left looking at the exit of the box.

0:22 - Head looking right out the passenger window at the corner exit of the sweeper.

0:32 - Looking all the way down at the exit of that tight left.

0:38 - I was looking at the cone that started the right hand turn at 0:41.

0:41 - Looking out the passenger window at the entrance cone of the final sweeper.

0:44 - Looking at the final cone just before the finish so I could get nice and close to it. Where did you end up in relation to that cone in your video?

Let me know if this helps at all.
