  1. I missed the spring season due to having our first child and having zero time for anything for a while there. Last fall if your SCCA membership was in the right reason you got early sign up, is that no longer the case?  I tried registering this morning (less than 24 hours after I was let in) and all classes are full. I'm sad that I'll wont' be able to register after missing a whole season.

  2. I'm still trying to get enough new parts to make the car close to how it was stock.  Haven't even though about my 120k mile OEM coilovers yet. I don't do it for the points. I'm, here for the fun and I'm not a fast driver anyway. I might just keep signing up for street next season based on these recomendations. If I get anywhere remotely close to 1 tenth of the top times, I'll look for a stock cat to put back on so I'm fair and square.

  3. Just got my S2000 done and they were as great as always.  They let me hang out in the garage while they did it. Most places would freak out about a "normy" in the garage, but they were super chill about it and even asked for my input a few times.  Crazy good price for their time, too.

  4. My Catalytic converter went missing... a frustrating experience but I'm positive there is a lost cat poster joke in there somewhere.  Anyway, the OEM cat is like $700-$1400 depending on which dealer you ask but an aftermarket unit is $200.  I thought this was great news, a high flow cat for cheaper than OEM! Then I realized that takes me out of street class, I think I should be and into Street Touring, maybe STR? So long story short, how do I get myself moved now that I've already registered?

As long as you keep the cat on you should be fine.   Note that the intake you run can make a difference as well.   Stock intake definitely quiets it down a bit.

Yup, was thinking high flow cat in the future (not a test pipe, I'm not here to be obnoxious) and leaving the stock airbox.  The dyno testing you can find on YouTube proves Honda didn't' skimp on the intake on these S2000's!

  6. I'm considering putting an aftermarket exhaust on my car, but I'm concerned about breaking sound at events.  I see the limit is 96db @ 50 feet on AMP's site, but it doesn't specify throttle or rpm range for this test. Can anyone shed a little more light on this?

Performance Automotive has been pretty good and they will give you a discount for being a SCCA member. There are/were two not related Performance Automotive so be careful. The one to use is on Superstition Springs in Mesa.  Some Discount Tire Stores are also good to use.

Yup, that's the one I was looking at, I suppose a 25 minute drive won't kill me.

  8. I have looked at some past threads and seen The Lift Shop(1 hour 10 minutes away) and Performance Automotive & Tire Center ( 25 minutes away) mentioned.  If I have to make the trip, I suppose I'll come up with some reason or another but I'd love to hear if anyone knows a reliable installer closer to San Tan Valley where I'm at?  I prefer to pay a little more and get high quality work as opposed to risking it for cheap.

  9. Where you the black CR in Group B?  I found the guys running that grey track-modified S2k with the carbon top but didn't' manage to track you down. I was sorta seeing everything for the first time so I was a little overwhelmed!

I had so much fun!  Sadly with my work schedule I can only make Sunday events, so I won't be there every weekend, but after the fun I had I'll be back for sure!
