  1. Registration for the July 24th event is now open: https://registration.azbrscca.org/index.html Registration closes Friday 7/22 at 7 pm. NOTE: we are on the Summer start time now to avoid some of the heat Site Open 7:30am Registration & Tech Open 7:30 am Registration Closes 9:00am Tech Closes 9:15 am Novice Walk 9:15am Mandatory Site Meeting ~9:30am (as soon as Novice Walk Finishes) If you are planning on being in any of the "Active" areas of the track during the event and are not an SCCA member, please make sure to ask about a weekend membership at the gate when you sign in. These are FREE to non-drivers (IE passengers, volunteers working course, or others who want to be in paddock supporting a driver)
  2. For 2022 no, we got everything we could ti finish the year, but in March next year looks like we *should (pending confirmation close tot eh end of the year)* be able to have a Saturday/two days of awesome event
  3. Coming this Fall we are adding a second site to our mix. There is a large freshly Paved Parking Lot at the Kino Sports Complex. We have secured the following dates: 10/23/22 11/20/22 12/18/22 and are working to continue with additional dates in 2023 as well! So for those of you missing a large open parking lot we have you covered again! This site is costing the club a fair amount more than Musselman, so please help get the word out and come check out our new venue this Fall.
  4. If the course is actively wet we would not run for the reasons mentioned (if just spots are wet we may evaluate those specific regions.) Right now it looks like the rain chances do not pick up till after lunch, and even those are <50% so if we can get some extra help setting up, and move quickly between run groups we can do out best to get the full event in. (that and I always take Arizona rain chances with a grain of salt...) I would also think there is a good chance that if there was a passing shower that the course could dry off quickly.
  5. Each run group gets 4 runs. So you can get a maximum of 8 if you select "time only" runs to add 4 more fun runs after the 4 "competition" runs.

  7. No limits on registration so you should be good to register all the way till the Friday before at 7 PM As a general note we would much rather a person register and not show up than to not register and show up and have to fit them in. If you are in this camp e-mail registration -at- azbrscca.org and lets us know that you can't attend.
  8. Yes the path from Rita should be good. If you have not been down Houghton lately, they are turning it into 2 lanes each with a median, so they are doing big construction over there.
  9. I have heard an unconfirmed rumor that Dawn Rd is currently closed due to the construction, and Brekke may now be open, if heading in from the north you may want to take Brekke in if it is open to avoid having to turn around.
  10. Registration for the May 22nd event is now open: https://registration.azbrscca.org/index.html Registration closes Friday 5/20 at 7 pm. 12. We are hosting a Solo Safety Steward (SSS) training session May 14th. Location is TBD in Tucson (pending how many are interested), and will be taught by Gene Sanders Training is open to everyone and free of charge (You do not need to be an experienced driver to attend) What is SSS: - You are the eyes and ears for the SCCA at local events to make sure they are run safely. Why take the training: - SSS is a certification from the national SCCA office that will show up on your liscence - The club needs trained individuals to be able to hold an event, if there are no SSS' for an event, it cannot be held - It provides a new way to look at the way events are run and why courses are designed the way they are for safety - When selected for an event this counts as your work assignment (we always have 2 SSS to both can drive like normal at the event If you are interested in attending, or have questions please reply here, or send me a message so we can get a feel for total number of attendees.

  16. Sounds like you have a fun new car. You can e-mail chieftech -at- azbrscca.org But honesty the tech we do is really general safety to put a final visual on the car before going on track. Ultimately the safety of the car is your responsibility Does the brake pedal have good feel, are the wheels/hubs tight (can you grab the pull/shove the wheel and feel any play), same with the steering wheel, does the steering feel tight, is your battery secure (this one gets a lot of people, it should not move when pulled on), If the battery is in the trunk it needs to have a positive post cover, are there any loose items inside the cabin, Are there unsecured floormats, is there at least a lap seatbelt, and is it in good condition, are fluids contained in proper canisters (will anything spill out while cornering). Are there any fluids leaking Do you have snell 2010 or newer helmet Are there any cords showing on the tires windsheild cracks Read thru the SCCA rules as well if you have not: https://www.scca.com/downloads/53335-2021-scca-solo-rule-book/download
  17. Scroll down to Musselman on our website: https://www.azbrscca.org/autocross/details.html
  18. - Happy New Year! It's time for a new season of AutoX! Updated COVID protocols in effect based on Omicron and the high rate of infection in our community: o Mask required except when driving o No loaner helmets available o Maintain Social Distancing o Sharing of cars ok if both participants agree, but recommend minimizing additional contact/car sharing where possible o Guest OK (please keep distance from other participants) o Novices OK - NEW Event start time: o Gates open at 8:30 am (1.5 hours later than typical) o Novice walk at 9:45 am o Mandatory Site meeting at 10 am (1 hour later than typical) Registration opens Friday 1/7 at 7 PM
  19. The first two events of the year will be held at Mussleman Honda course on January 16th and February 27th.
  20. We are now confirmed for Marana for the November 14th Event. The weather is looking to be a nice mid-80s and sunny where else would you want to be?
  21. Marana is now confirmed for the November event
  22. Minors in the "hot" areas require a Minor Waiver to be filled out. This requires signatures from both parents/legal guardians. The best option is for both parents to be on site to sign when an SCCA member can witness the signatures. If both cannot be on site, there is a form that can be signed in front of a notary form here: https://www.scca.com/downloads look for SCCA Minor Notary 1068 v9.2020 The form MUST be printed in color
  23. As long as the site is not flooded like it was earlier in the year we should be able to hold the event. looking at wunderground they are predicting <.1" of rain and more of that finished while we are sleeping, so I expect we will be able to have a good event tomorrow. You might want to throw a trash bag or two in your car to cover the items to you take out.
  24. We are running a little low on board members for tomorrows event. If there are a few people who can show up 15-30 minutes before the gates open to help us setup it would be much appreciated to keep the event rolling on schedule.
  25. Marana is confirmed for September
