  1. It was a good testing day, made some big strides in the suspension tuning department. At this rate I’ll have the car better setup by next season. My son (13) came for the first time and is officially hooked talked about what his first car could be to race the whole drive home. https://youtu.be/rd1WFFqGkOY

  2. Hey Dov! Good to see you're coming back out. STS has a lot of challengers now locally. For STS Miata it's Yoko's A052 205/50's. The "tenth" of a second step down is the Bridgestone RE-71RS 205/50. It's still arguable that depending on your driving style one is faster than the other, but so far with the testing it's slower. Only thing to keep in mine is with either tire you have to bring a sprayer when it starts to get 75degrees and above. Long gone are the days that the top tire's "like" heat. The other options that Sid mentioned are also great options, but noticeably slower. You do however get longer life out of them and they can handle heat. Fuel tank, Thank you Mazda. 14mm bolt on the bottom of the tank. Driver side before the axle. Easy to access and drain. Be careful not to over tighten when done.

  3. Loved the course today, it flowed SO well. Thanks Bill!! My GoPro failed on my fastest 40.921 but here's my 40.966 the run before. Looking back at data seeing where I screwed up sure makes me wish I had one more shot at it.

  4. It looks like I was an outlier in deciding to take the left side of the finish slalom. 40.831 in Comp group D.

  5. As others have said, very fun and flowing course today - played nicely to the GT4’s strengths. This was my quickest TO run (36.708):

  6. Results from the 10/22/2022 & 11/13/2022 events have been posted to the results page. Please post any corrections or questions here. Since the scoring software currently doesn't support time-only runs, I've attached pictures of the TO timing sheets below.

  7. I stopped auto-crossing 3 years ago when my kid was born and the other bad thing happened. I'm hopeing to get my miata running again and start autocrossing soon (December might be optimistic but for sure by January). So two questions: 1) What tires are the fast street people using these days? 2) Anyone have an easy way to drain a miata fuel tank, I'm pretty sure the gas in it has gone bad by now.

  8. Here’s my best run of the day, a 40.145. I was on the struggle bus all day with grip, and had two Brown Pants moments with spins going into the first left hand sweeper. I got the closest to hitting something hard at any time in my 18 years of autocross when I almost spun into the fence in TOs.

  9. Dov good to see you are still around. Tires, there's quite a few choices these days. Pick your poison, Bridgestones RE71-RS, Yokohama A052, Falken RT-660, Nankang CR-1 (or CR-S I think is the latest rendition), or Kumho V730's, just to name a few. I believe Nexen also has a competitive tire out but don't know anyone local that has tried them yet. The Miata question I can't answer, but maybe Mr. King or one of the many resident Miata experts can chime in?

  10. Had a blast and was able to place first in Novice for the first time with 43.545 seconds. Thanks to everyone who rode with me and gave me some pointers. Music helps keep me focused when I need focus, so apologize for it blasting in the vid. 2017 Focus RS (D-Street) IMG_6504.MP4

  12. That was a fun course. My clutch started to loose interest after the launch, but luckily it grabbed soon after. No cones though!

  13. Struggle bus for me today. Between hitting cones and fighting with traction/stability control magically turning back on midway during each run I managed to scrape a meh 41.4xx lol
