  1. My son and I had a great time on Sunday being back at the track, we are not used to this heat yet (WA is a little on the cooler side) but we managed to stick it out until the end of the day. This was my first time shooting autocross and I must admit I'm not used to all those cones! I agreed to give one free image to competitors so if you can give me your car details etc I will get a free image to you. The rest are up on my site and are available to purchase if you so wish. I hope to be back out again for the next round..fingers crossed. https://veitchcreative.smugmug.com/Car-Racing/SCCA-Solo/ I can also produce 19"x13" high quality prints if anyone is interested....Thanks!!

  6. As was mentioned in the Steering Committee’s recent announcement about creating a new SCCA region for our club "Phoenix AZ Solo Region" we are now asking for your support to make it a reality. What can you do? If your region of record is the Arizona Region, we are asking you to send a personal email to rmyers@scca.com (this is Rick Myers who is the SCCA National Rep for the Regions) that you support the creation of the new region (please reference the "Phoenix AZ Solo Region" in the email), you only need to have a one line communication like "I support the creation of the Phoenix AZ Solo Region". Also include your: (1) SCCA number member (2) full name (3) street address Please cc Kevin kvenisn@msn.com and Kim kkempvet@aol.com on the email as we are coordinating the email count with Rick. The new region creation is subject to the approval of the SCCA National Board of Directors, so the more support from our individual members we get the greater the chance the Board will approve it. Your email counts! Thank you for your support and for those that have already sent in their email, THANK YOU! AZ Solo Steering Committee

  8. Can't thank you enough! I'm an amateur car photographer myself and always take action shots of my friend's cars, but no ones ever taken any of my GTO. Now I finally have some pics with the new wing! Also, I'm from Spokane myself. Cool to see more mossbacks!

  13. Yeah, I liked it as well. When the light nimble cars run pretty similar times as the heavy high horsepower cars, you know it's a well designed course.

  14. Smooth, easy to see and follow, not too technical. Lots to like. This one’s a “keeper”.😎

  15. Awesome course, Nick! Fast and technical, but somehow hardly any cone hits.

  16. Hello everyone! And welcome back to the start of the season, I'm excited to see you all once again 🙂 Here is your run/work order for Sunday. Gates open at 06:30, Reg open at 06:45, driving starts at 08:30. SIDE NOTE: I really had to do some juggling in these groups to make sure we had adequate worker coverage, so if you got moved to a run group you didn't want I apologize, but it was necessary. Remember that Registration is first come first served, so if you really want a certain group make sure to sign up as soon as Reg opens. 17. For those driving on Sunday AMP has a track event on Sunday so no AMP sound meter testing will be available, instead AZ Solo tech and AMP track personnel, during tech, will allow those vehicles without a sound sticker, they feel will likely pass sound to run provisionally. If they feel your car would likely fail sound you cannot run and your registration fee will be refunded. As previously communicated there is no need for anyone running in the afternoon to arrive in the morning for the track sound check. The vast majority of stock cars will pass sound and if your car has an AMP sound sticker and no alterations were done to increase exhaust volume you are good to go. Kim

  18. These are listed under the event calendar for the Sept. 19th but thought we could post them here. Tip. Once you do speed waiver, take a screen shot of it and save to phone. Just easier than finding the text message later with the link the morning of. Only guest that are with drivers can sign a speed waiver. Limit two guest. 20. Good Afternoon! We have recently relocated to Mesa, AZ from Lacey, WA. My day job is as the Marketing Manager and graphic designer for the Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA. I am very much missing the track atmosphere, the sounds, smell and excitement hence me reaching out. I am looking at doing more photography at some local events. I hold credentials or have shot events with MotoAmerica, SCCA, SVRA, GTA and have been a constant at the WMRRA series in Washington. I’m not looking to stand on anyone's toes that you may have contracted to shoot but just to get back into being at the track. I also produce digital art from images that adds something very unique to track day riders. I have attached sample images and some sample artwork. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

  21. In May, I went to Radford Racing School (formerly Bondurant Racing School) to become better at high performance driving techniques. Radford Racing School was a ton of fun and I learned a lot during my time there. Decided in August to install some camber bolts, ARP wheel studs, and rear lower control arms for my 2013 Scion FR-S. Lance helped me install the camber bolts and rear lower control arms. I got my FR-S aligned as close to my requests as possible and I like the handling so far. Looking forward to coming back to autocross because the events at AMP are a lot of fun and well organized. Also looking forward to watching all the cool cars doing their autocross runs. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get new tires because some things came up last month that killed the budget for new tires. Sadly, my times won't be very competitive on used up tires, but I'll have fun anyway 🙂

  23. I upgraded from stock KYB GR2's and old lowering springs to a coil over setup, along with a larger rear sway bar. I can't wait to test the new setup out!

  25. Hey Scott, and what's new with you? I got new springs, wheels, tires, rear sway bar, down pipe, and a different tune. I'm really excited to test out the new setup... I just hope the sound check doesn't object.

  27. Ready for the 2021/2022 Fall/Winter Series? I am putting together an Instagram page dedicated to the new Phoenix AZ Solo Region. I would like to post information regarding the drivers, cars, stories and upcoming Solo events on a frequent basis. What I need to get the page up and running is information regarding Phoenix AZ Solo Region drivers, cars pictures and specs as well as any stories. Please email me that information so I can post it. Thank you and I look forward to making this a very lively and informative Instagram page! See y'all on Sept 19th! Kei Josephson MacKei Motorsports Email: MacKeiMotorsports93@yahoo.com

  30. We added a drop down option to the registration in MSR for the registering driver to invite 1-2 guests and they'll add the names of the guests in the Additional Comments box like you would a co-driver name. Once the # of invited guests reaches the cap per session, the option will not show as available any longer. Waivers will have a list of "invited guests" names next to the driver that invited them at the waiver station. It will be the driver's responsibility to get the Speedwaiver link to their guests for them to process the Speedwaiver and show to waivers at the gate.
