If it's nothing more than a catback exhaust then I would say CS.

It was a challenging course for sure and I had a tough time being patient enough to keep things tight in some of the elements especially the last left handers before the finish.

So for those that buy tires from tirerack, since discount tire effectively owns tirerack now, they will honor just the cost of mounting, which is $22 per tire. I just paid 88 bucks today to have some kumho v730s mounted and my old rival 1.5 S's dismounted.

No worries. On a side note, you guys that are running in SM that run 200tw tires should think about moving to XS-A since the PAX is more forgiving than the hoosier PAX'd SM class.

SM or Xtreme Street-A since you are on street tires.

If it was just a regular Veloster, and not the "N", then yes indeed STH. If it was a Veloster N on coilovers, then it would be STU.

This is an excellent find, especially for those people who refuse to even look at the rulebook and do a CTRL-F to see which class their car actually pops up in the search. Example: I just typed in a car I typically get classing questions asked about a lot and there are 7 results. The tool found is very useful but just as Tom mentioned, still reference the rulebook to be sure (especially when modifications are in question.)

Directly out of the Street Touring section 14.2 BODYWORK A. Pedal cover kits and other interior cosmetic accessories may be added. “Dress-up” items such as chrome dipsticks and non-standard filler caps are permitted, provided they serve no other purpose. B. The driver and front passenger seats may be replaced with the follow-ing restrictions. The seating surface must be fully upholstered. The top of the seat, or an attached headrest, may not be below the center of the driver’s head. The seat, including mounting hardware, must weigh at least 25 pounds and must be attached using the OE body mounting holes/studs. Additional mounting points may be added. It does not say rear seats can be removed, therefore it is not legal to do so for STU, or any street touring class.

Rule of thumb for SCCA ruling, if it is not written specifically saying you can do it, then it's not legal.

Lance is correct. Very difficult to allow 250+ participants and be cleaned up and off site by 5pm. Steve also made mention of past times where we did have the max of 240 or so drivers and got 3 runs. Understandable for a national event, not so great for a local event and many were unhappy with it. It's an unfortunate trade off, but right now the only viable option for the Phx region unless track restrictions are lifted or other sites are obtained.

Correct. This would be legal for STU regardless of diameter as it is considered part of the air inlet/intake.

The throttle body and injectors take you out of any kind of street touring so the next class progression for this car I believe would be DSP.

You appear to be registered to run in A so therefore you work in B group. Once you do your work assignment, your done for the day.

Oh Scott also forgot to mention he's piloting something new (he's been dialing it in this past summer at Marana). Noticed a 2017 Golf R classed in STH, it should be in STU (older less powerful Golf R is an STH car though.

Lots of good ideas being thrown out here. I would suggest attending one of the upcoming SC meetings with a list of ideas/proposal on how the region could support these events. Yes these events have been done in the past, but logistically there were more options other than AMP to choose from.
