  1. I don't use turnplates. Sure they can be used, but you can get really close without them.
  2. I use the Longacre toe plates and the Longacre camber/caster guage. I've had them for 10+ years so not sure if the model numbers are the same. I also have a laser pointer that I use in addition to the toe plates for setting rear toe with relation to the front of the car.
  3. Chris, I came to buy a marker on Sunday afternoon, but no one had them to sell. Are they gonna be available in April?
  4. I don't know what you drive, but I've heard that the A052s put down power better so if you have a high HP car and care about winning get A052s. If you are cheap like me and just want to have fun on a decent tire get the RT660s like I have on my S2000.
  5. I went left each time, didn't try going to the right and really focused on trying to get to that first slalom cone as fast as I could. Even though the exit was more pinched, it didn't feel that tight in my car.
  6. I didn't have fuel starvation, but I started the day with a full tank when I left my house 45 miles away. I normally target a half tank or more at the start of the event. However, today was the first time I experienced oil getting sucked back into the intake as I would say the amount time on long sweepers was the most I've experienced. I'll be adding a catch can soon.
  7. 43.5 with some coneage after the finish due to poor set up coming off the final left hander. I've given up on Solostorm and am using TrackAddict with a Qstarz818 for data. AMP-Run5_20210314.mp4
  8. I actually prefer our current run group structure and limiting entries so do we really want to go back to how it was done in the past? It sure seems a lot more efficient now.
  9. Looks good! Gonna miss those PERL scripts....NOT
  10. I am using Track Addict for this event. I also have Solostorm but prefer Track Addict as it is easier to use and quicker for me to look at the run and to see the video. AZSCCA-AMP-20210213.mp4
  11. I wouldn't autocross that vehicle. Rollovers are real. There are number of videos out there showing cars rolling, here is one:
  12. Disappointed that you didn't include any data in your video.... On the other hand, excellent technique!
  13. undefined.mp4 Please do not replicate my poor hand positioning - it is something I need to work on. Run 5 - 44.3
  14. The new Real Time results are excellent, much better than the Python based text files that used to be uploaded every 10 runs 😆
  15. Latest PAX numbers can be found here: https://www.solotime.info/pax/
  16. If it isn't yet in the dropdown on registration I believe Timing and Scoring can add it in on their end. I would run in whatever class gave me the best chance at placing well and that means looking for the class with the lower PAX factor.
  17. When my C6 Grand Sport was stock it passed sound easily.
  18. Assuming you are running on street tires you would probably want to sign up for XSA or XSB depending on the weight of your car. https://www.scca.com/articles/2013398-new-class-released-for-scca-solo-competition
  19. The list is missing CAM and XS classes which are likely to be far more subscribed than the Hoosier based classes so I wouldn't use that list as is to explain classing.
  20. I like how Jason's hands never come off the wheel - that is very good technique. I also like how he has the camera in the car so that you can see the entire course and and steering inputs - it is how I do it as well. If desired, add a second camera outside the car if you want to see how close to the cones you are. I did update Solostorm and while it seemed promising in testing, it failed me at the event I recently attended in terms of triggering my GoPro Black 3. I will say though that it stayed connected to the GPS now, whereas in the past it did not. Hoping to get this worked out so we can share data at the events.
  21. I use the Longacre toe plates and their caster/camber gauge for alignments. I also use a laser level like Dan posted to set the thrust angle of the rear wheel toe alignments. I previously used the laser level for camber measurements and the Longacre caster/camber gauge really isn't that much better.
  22. Lance, what GPS and camera are you using with Solostorm? I have tried two different GPS, including the recommended Q-Starz and have a lot of connection issues. Doesn't work with GoPro 3 Black either. That said, I didnt do the update that recently came out, but if I could get good data like you are getting I will do that.
  23. Thanks for putting that together Scott.
  24. When I'm not lazy I take my wheels/tires off after events and store them in the house. It gets really hot in the garage so I'd rather keep them in the AC. Many years ago I tried some tire softener gel and put them in garbage bags in the garage and it didnt really help.
